DeWalt DCH293B 20V MAX XR Brushless 1-1/8" SDS Plus L-Shape Rotary Hammer (Bare Tool)

The DeWalt DCH293B 20V MAX XR Brushless 1-1/8-inch SDS Plus cordless rotary hammer delivers heavy-duty drilling, hammer-drilling, and chipping performance in cured reinforced concrete, solid masonry, and structural stone. Powered by a high-efficiency brushless motor and a German-engineered electro-pneumatic hammer mechanism, this cordless powerhouse generates 3.5 Joules of impact energy with up to 4,480 BPM and 1,000 RPM. Outfitted with an ergonomic L-shape balanced chassis, SHOCKS Active Vibration Control handles, the Anti-Rotation E-CLUTCH safety system, and three-mode selectable operation, it equips commercial electricians, structural ironworkers, and mechanical contractors with high-speed anchor hole boring and fatigue-reducing control on horizontal, vertical, and overhead work surfaces.

**Battery and charger sold separately.

Best Used For:

  • Heavy Structural Concrete Anchor Drilling: Boring 5/8" to 7/8" diameter anchor holes for seismic tie-downs, structural column base plates, and post-tension anchors in reinforced slab concrete.
  • Mechanical and Electrical Overhead Suspensions: Drilling ceiling anchor placements for threaded rod drops, heavy conduit racks, fire sprinkler piping, and commercial HVAC ducting.
  • Light Demolition and Surface Chipping: Removing ceramic tile, scaling excess concrete pour splatter, and channeling electrical conduit chases in block masonry walls in chipping mode.

Key Performance & Safety Features

  • Formidable 3.5 Joules Impact Energy: High-output German-engineered hammer mechanism provides rapid penetration rates through dense aggregate concrete.
  • Anti-Rotation E-CLUTCH® Protection: Advanced internal sensors detect instantaneous bit binding and shut down electrical motor power in milliseconds to protect operator wrists.
  • SHOCKS™ Active Vibration Control: Internal counter-balance mechanism significantly dampens handle vibration to reduce user fatigue during continuous drilling shifts.
  • High-Efficiency XR Brushless Motor: Delivers extended cordless runtime, cooler motor operation, and maintenance-free service life under intense jobsite workloads.
  • Versatile Three-Mode Selector Dial: Quickly switches between Rotary Hammer, Rotation Only, and Hammer Only (Chipping) modes for broad application flexibility.
  • OSHA Table 1 Dust Compliance Ready: Easily integrates with the optional DeWalt DWH304DH on-board dust extraction unit to capture airborne crystalline silica at the source.

Pro-Tip: When drilling into heavily reinforced concrete with embedded rebar, avoid forcing excessive forward feed pressure; maintaining moderate, steady contact allows the electro-pneumatic hammer mechanism to achieve maximum impact velocity and lets the E-CLUTCH react smoothly if a steel rebar strand is encountered.
