The Freud 16-108 is a 1-1/4-inch overall diameter down shear mortising router bit engineered to cut smooth hinge pockets, flat-bottom dadoes, and leveled CNC spoilboards without surface tearout. Built with a heavy-duty 1/2-inch shank and a 1/2-inch carbide cutting height, this 2-cutter tool utilizes down-shear tip geometry to push top surface wood fibers downward into the cut. Tipped with TiCo™ Hi-Density Micrograin Carbide and protected by a thermal-resistant Perma-SHIELD® non-stick coating, it operates reliably at rotational speeds up to 18,000 RPM across CNC machinery, router tables, or handheld routers in solid hardwoods, softwoods, plywood, and veneers.
