Tsurumi HS2.4S 1/2 HP 115V 2" Submersible Trash & Slurry Dewatering Pump with Agitator

The Tsurumi HS2.4S 1/2 HP electric submersible trash pump evacuates abrasive slurry, pumps sediment-laden groundwater from jobsite excavations, drains flooded foundation footings, and clears utility vaults containing sand and suspended solids up to 0.8 inches (20 mm) in diameter. Powered by a continuous-duty 115V single-phase electric motor that delivers a maximum flow rate of 53 GPM (3,180 GPH) and a total dynamic head reach of 39 feet through a 2-inch NPT discharge bore, this portable dewatering unit incorporates a shaft-mounted built-in agitator to suspend heavy sediments for smooth suction. Outfitted with an abrasion-resistant semi-vortex urethane rubber impeller, a rugged cast iron pump casing, dual silicon carbide mechanical seals inside an oil bath, and patented Oil Lifter technology, it provides general contractors, civil utilities, and equipment rental fleets with uninterrupted slurry evacuation across harsh commercial drainage environments.

Best Used For:

  • Excavation Pit and Foundation Dewatering: Evacuating muddy groundwater, silt run-off, and heavy bentonite slurries from trenching ditches, elevator shafts, and building footings.
  • Utility Vault and Manhole Drainage: Clearing stormwater accumulation containing grit, sand, and small rocks from municipal electrical vaults, telecom manholes, and pipeline pits.
  • Emergency Flood Remediation and Sump Pumping: Draining flooded commercial basements, retention basins, sediment ponds, and parking structures following severe storms.

Key Performance & Safety Features

  • Shaft-Mounted Built-In Agitator: Suspends dense mud, sand, and settling solids in liquid suspension to ensure continuous particle passage without suction screen clogging.
  • Semi-Vortex Urethane Impeller: Resists severe abrasive wear from gravel and silt particles, maintaining optimal hydraulic pressure throughout extended pumping cycles.
  • Dual Inside Mechanical Seals: Silicon carbide seal faces isolated within an oil chamber protect critical internal components against dry-running friction and high pressure.
  • Patented Tsurumi Oil Lifter: Ensures continuous lubrication across upper and lower seal faces even when oil levels drop, significantly extending service intervals.
  • Continuous-Duty Motor with Thermal Protection: Air-filled 1/2 HP electric motor includes built-in thermal overload protection to prevent motor burnout under demanding duty cycles.
  • Heavy-Duty 20-Foot Submersible Power Cord: Waterproof power cable features anti-wicking block seals to prevent moisture ingress into the motor housing if the outer jacket gets abraded.

Pro-Tip: When deploying into muddy trenches with heavy settled silt, suspend the pump 4 to 6 inches above the pit bottom or set it atop a stable paver; this allows the built-in agitator to churn sand into suspension smoothly without burying the suction screen in dense gravel.
